Strategie Grains Lowers EU Wheat Estimate
Strategie Grains have lowered their EU wheat (including durum) production estimate for the coming season by 2.1 MMT from April's estimate to 137.1 MMT, citing dryness in Eastern Europe.
Soft wheat production is now seen 1.7 MMT lower than last month at 128.9 MMT, a reduction of 8% on the 140 MMT produced a year ago. Durum wheat output is now seen 16% lower than last year at 8.2 MMT.
Barley output is now forecast at 61.2 MMT (down 7%) and corn production at 58.6 MMT (6% lower than a year ago).
