Ukraine Grain Exports At 21.5 MMT
Ukraine has exported 21.5 MMT of grains in the first ten months of the marketing year, according to Yuri Melnik, the Minister of Agrarian Policy.
According to the State Committee of Statistics, in 2008 Ukraine harvested 53.3 MMT of grain in clean weight, up 82% compared to 2007.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects grain exports in the current MY (July 2008 - June 2009) will total 25.6 MMT.
The Ministry said that they will issue a revised estimate on grain production for 2009 next week. Their most recent estimate was for production of 48 MMT.
UkrAgroConsult currently projects Ukraine to produce 19.1 MMT of wheat, 9.8 MMT of barley and 7.2 MMT of corn in 2009.
