USDA Weekly Export Sales
For the period July 31-August 6, 2009 the USDA reported export sales as follows:
Soybeans
Net sales of 259,500 MT old crop and 762,400 MT new crop, giving combined sales of just over 1 MMT. Pre-report export sales estimates were 250,000 to 1,000,000 MT. Old crop sales were primarily for Indonesia (86,000 MT), Taiwan (74,600 MT) and China (60,900 MT). New crop sales were primarily for unknown destinations (371,000 MT) and China (290,000 MT).
Corn
Export sales were 541,200 MT old crop and 292,500 MT new crop giving combined sales of 833,700 MT. Pre-report estimates ranged from 800,000 to 1.2 MMT. the main old crop homes were Increases reported for Japan (345,600 MT) and South Korea (88,000 MT). The main new crop buyers were primarily for Egypt (60,000 MT), unknown destinations (53,800 MT), Peru (44,000 MT), and Mexico (40,000 MT).
Wheat
Export sales were 479,100 MT, compared to pre-report estimates of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were reported for Japan (83,600 MT), Nigeria (67,500 MT), Egypt (66,000 MT), Indonesia (58,000 MT), Yemen (49,000 MT), Chile (33,000 MT), and the Philippines (32,800 MT).
