Classic: Wind Farm Opening Delayed By High Winds
Traditional Scottish weather of high winds and driving rain has delayed the opening of the Robin Rigg wind farm located off the coast of Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway.
The site was scheduled to begin supplying electricity to the grid at Seaton early in the summer but last-minute work was hampered by bad weather.
Delays have plagued the £330 million project a number of times, some of which have been due to weather conditions and others related to contract issues.
When the project is finally up and running it is expected to provide enough energy to power as many as 120,000 homes.
