The dollar is broadly weaker in early trade Monday as Asian and European stocks climb.
The recession will "probably" end in 2009 Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said in a televised US interview over the weekend.
The Fed are having a two-day meeting Tues/Weds to discuss the possibility of launching new measure to stimulate the US economy, or extending the existing ones. Either way it's going to be expensive.
G20 finance ministers will do "whatever is necessary" they told reporters after they concluded their weekend summit.
And for now it seems that the market believes them, with the pound around two cents higher than Friday's levels at $1.4180, and the euro up to $1.2980.
