UK Winter Barley Plantings Down By 58 Percent
Having recently reported UK winter wheat plantings down by around 15%, DEFRA say that only 424,000 hectares of winter barley has managed to get into the ground.
That's a 58% drop on 1 million hectares a year ago.
Rapeseed plantings are just 4% down at 572,000 hectares they say, whilst oat plantings are down by almost a third to 93,000 hectares.
