16/11/10 -- McDonalds have increased the prices of some items in it's Chinese outlets by 0.5 to 1 yuan "because of higher raw material prices" it says.
That's the second price increase in the last four months as Chinese food price inflation keeps rising. A one yuan increase on a Big Mac equates to a hike of around 7 percent.
Officially consumer price inflation hit 4.4% in October, its highest level in two years. Unofficial reports suggest that it is running at at least twice that level.
