10/01/11 -- The Argy soybean crop "isn't likely to top 40 million tons" whilst corn output "is unlikely to top 17.5 million tons this season" according to this report quoting Argy analysts AgriPac.
That would certainly set the cat amongst the pigeons if true, with the USDA currently predicting 52 MMT and 25 MMT respectively.
Although it doesn't say so on the website this is actually a Dow Jones Newswires story, not one made up by some Indian outfit that you've never heard of, which should lend the report some credence.
Knocking 12 MMT of soybeans and 7.5 MMT of corn off the global bottom line in 2011 would certainly tighten the supply screw a whole lot more.
