02/03/14 -- For your personal interest, and my own idle amusement, I thought that you might be interested in a few little factlets about Friday night's closes. All of the following refer to the weekly front month continuous chart...
Friday's Paris corn close was the first sub-zero EUR170 finish in 17 weeks. Conversely, it was Chicago corn's highest close in 26 weeks. The euro was last this high against the US dollar 19 weeks ago. That might have had something to do with it, although it's interesting to see Paris corn close on it's arse when it's all kicking off in Ukraine.
This was the highest soybean oil close in 18 weeks, and the best for beans and meal in 25 weeks.
It was also the first close above EUR200 for Paris wheat in 9 weeks, and the highest close for Paris rapeseed in 25 weeks.
