USDA Export Sales Expectations
The following are pre-report expectations ahead of today's USDA Export Sales Report for the week ended May 1st due 13.30BST.

USDA Weekly Export Sales Report
Weekly Export Sales released at 13.30BST today. For the week ended April 24, traders expected: wheat sales from 300,000 to 500,000 MT; corn sales from 650,000 to 900,000 MT; soybean sales from 200,000 to 400,000 MT; meal sales from 100,000 to 200,000 MT; and soyoil sales from 5,000 to 15,000 MT.
Actual sales were: wheat 171,100 MT old crop and 323,100 MT new crop; corn 551,200 MT old crop and 44,800 MT new crop; soybeans 310,900 MT old crop and 64,700 MT new crop; meal 59,000 MT old crop and 55,800 MT new crop; soyoil 8,900 MT old crop and no sales for new crop.
Corn sales were a little disappointing, with the rest in line with expectations.
USDA weekly export sales report expectations
This afternoon's USDA weekly export sales report for w/e 24 April will be closely monitored for signs whether the recent price drop in wheat has managed to stimulate some export interest. And indeed if the relative firmness in the soybean and corn markets is showing signs of rationing demand.
Trade expectations for the report due at 13.30BST are:

USDA Weekly Export Sales
For the week ended April 17, traders expected: wheat sales from 250,000 to 350,000 MT; corn sales from 750,000 to 1.25 million MT; soybean sales from 250,000 to 450,000 MT;
The actual figures were: wheat 158,000 MT old crop, 114,800 MT new crop; corn 775,300 MT old crop, 212,300 MT new crop; soybeans 376,700 MT old crop, and no sales for new crop.
USDA weekly exports sales - wheat disappoints
In it's regular weekly export sales report the USDA cited wheat sales well below trade expectations at 308,400 MT (129,200 MT 2007-08 and 179,200 MT new crop 2008-09). This was well under trade estimates of 450,000 - 750,000MT.
Soybean sales at 408,200MT (all 2007-08) were in line with expectations of 200,000 - 500,000MT.
Corn sales were 922,400MT (almost all 2007-08), compared with expectations of 600,000 - 900,000MT.
USDA weekly export sales strong wheat/soybeans, weak corn
This summary is based on reports from exporters for the period March 28-April 3, 2008.
Wheat net sales of 454,200 metric tons were 70 percent above the previous week and two and one-tenth times the prior 4-week average. Net sales of 309,400 MT for delivery in 2008/09 were mainly for Egypt (120,000 MT), Mexico (73,600 MT) & Japan (73,000 MT). This gives total export sales of 763,600 MT vs expectations of 300-750,000 MT.
Corn net sales of 473,900 metric tons--a marketing-year low--were 32 percent below the previous week and 34 percent under the prior 4-week average. The 2008-09 year saw sales of 9,600 tons. This gives total export sales of 483,500 MT vs expectations of 700-1,050,000 MT.
Soybean net sales of 583,800 MT were three and one-fifth times the previous week and 87 percent above the prior 4-week average. Net sales of 60,000 MT for delivery in 2008/09 were for unknown destinations (50,000 MT) and Japan (10,000 MT). This gives total net sales of 643,800 MT vs expectations of 200-600,000 MT.

This summary is based on reports from exporters for the period March 21-27, 2008.
Wheat sales of 267,200 metric tons were 30 percent below the previous week, but 3 percent over the prior 4-week average. Add to this sales of 121,100 MT for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 388,300 MT. This compares to expectations of 450,000 to 650,000 MT.
Corn sales of 704,400 metric tons were 11 percent above the previous week and 1 percent over the prior 4-week average. Add to this sales of 241,300 MT for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 945,700 MT. This compares to expectations of 550,000 to 750,000 MT.
Soybean sales of 184,800 MT were down 50 percent from the previous week and 42 percent from the prior 4-week average. Add to this net sales of 230,000 MT for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 414,800 MT. This compares to expectations of 350,000 to 750,000 MT.
Soymeal sales of 90,000 MT were 43 percent below the previous week and 35 percent under the prior 4-week average. There were no sales for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 90,000 MT. This compares to expectations of 100,000 to 175,000 MT.
Soyoil sales were 55,800 MT. This compares to expectations of 10,000 to 25,000 MT.

This summary is based on reports from exporters for the period March 14-20, 2008.
Wheat sales of 379,900 metric tons were much improved from the previous week and 57 percent over the prior 4-week average. Add to this sales of 182,900 MT for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 562,800 MT. This compares to expectations of 450,000 to 650,000 MT.
Corn sales of 632,500 metric tons were 16 percent under the previous week and 9 percent below the prior 4-week average. Add to this sales of 97,800 MT for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 730,300 MT. This compares to expectations of 650,000 to 850,000 MT.
Soybean sales of 369,600 MT were down 16 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average. Add to this net sales of 162,700 MT for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 532,300 MT. This compares to expectations of 350,000 to 500,000 MT.
Soymeal sales of 156,800 MT were 11 percent below the previous week, but 25 percent over the prior 4-week average. Add to this sales of 22,000 MT for delivery in 2008/09 giving total net sales of 178,800 MT. This compares to expectations of 100,000 to 150,000 MT.
Soyoil sales were 42,000 MT. This compares to expectations of 10,000 to 20,000 MT.
USDA export sales expectations
The following are the pre-report expectations ahead of today's USDA Weekly Export Sales Report for w/e March 20th:
Wheat 400-750,000 tons; corn 600-900,000 tons; soybeans 300-700,000 tons; soymeal 100-150,000 tons; soyoil 10-20,000 tons.
Figures are expected out at 12.30 GMT.
USDA Weekly Export Sales
Weekly Export Sales this morning. For the week ended March 13, traders expected: wheat sales from 200,000 to 400,000 MT; corn sales from 550,000 to 750,000 MT; soybean sales from 300,000 to 450,000 MT; meal sales from 75,000 to 125,000 MT; soyoil sales from 5,000 to 15,000 MT.
What traders got was: wheat 168,400 MT; corn 780,700 MT; beans 504,400 MT; meal 188,300 MT; oil 23,900 MT. These amounts include both old & new crop sales.
Looks bearish wheat & neutral/friendly the rest which may add a little support to corn/soy complex, although all products expected to open lower.
